This experience will help children identify and articulate what they're feeling. Beginning with a warm-up exercise to get to know one another, Teacher Kristen will share with kids an emotions color wheel. They'll use the wheel to choose colors reflective of their feelings, and draw their emotions in whichever way they care to express themselves. Through several stories, and movement activities, themes of identifying and understanding and even sourcing one's emotions will be introduced and reinforced. Kids will also act out several emotions to build empathy for what others may at times be feeling. While this experience goes deep, it's also designed to be silly and prompt lots of laughter in an especially warm environment.
Kristen is a fun, energetic, and driven young woman who strives to make a positive difference in the world. With many years of experience working with children, including several assisting in classrooms, she's been passionate about connecting deeply with kids her entire life. She believes childhood should be filled with giggles and new learning experiences, and uses activities and games to instill creativity, learning and self-efficacy in kids. With a large dose of silliness and not taking oneself too seriously :)
