Learn to Rollerblade!

Kids will learn to rollerblade, or improve their skills with Teacher Karen!

Beginners will first practice blading on the carpeted area at Skate City Arvada. Karen will go over basics such as the angle your blades should be at and technique for moving forward, stopping, and falling safely. Then, they'll transition to the rink and practice their new skills on the skating surface. Once everyone feels pretty confident, Karen will introduce going in circles around the rink together, and having some fun! Karen will incorporate skating games based on the child or group's skill level.

Equipment not provided. Kids can bring their own or rent at Skate City.

About Karen

Production Designer

Karen is a Production Designer who works on short films, music videos, and ads to create sets that feel natural while also maintaining an element of wonder and fun. She works as a freelance painter and specializes in still life and portrait painting. She has been passionate about the arts for the entirety of her life, and is excited to bring this love to every one of her Grasshopper experiences for kids!

Karen has worked with children for over 6 years, including as a caregiver, nanny, tutor, and softball coach. She is CPR and First Aid certified, and vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Also, as an educator, I was very impressed with how the teacher led the program. She obviously knew what she was doing, and the minute she left, my kids were asking for another experience.

Since discovering Grasshopper at a local street fair I have hired them for all (3 in total) birthday parties. The instructors are passionate about their craft and excellent working with children. I hope the day never comes where my kids outgrow their offerings, but w their ability to customize a party to a child’s desire, I think we’ll be hosting parties w the help of Grasshopper for years to come.
