In this experience on wheels, kids will learn the basics of how to rollerblade or rollerskate. Depending on familiarity and skill level, Garrett will tailor the learning so children get the most out of their introduction or advanced lesson. For smaller children, the emphasis will be on gross motor skills and how our arms and legs move independently and all together.
First-time skaters will begin with learning how to keep their balance while going straight (slow and fast), turning (by leaning and cross stepping), and eventually moving backwards. They will be learn how to stop in a simple, safe way, and progress to other techniques based on their speed.
All skaters will walk away with boosted self-confidence after working on something challenging. Learning to struggle with something new is not easy at a young age, and Garrett ensures kids leave this experience having had fun and excited about all they've learned and hopefully wanting more. Garrett is excited to share with kids another way to explore their neighborhoods and get exercise with family and friends. This experience is available as a one-time or as part of a 6-week series.
Rollerblading equipment (skates, helmet, pads) not provided.
