Let's Dance!

Learn that dance is a wonderful way to express oneself, and to communicate without words. Throughout this experience, kids will learn about different styles of dance and have fun moving their bodies!

Many different styles of dance are showcased during this dance spectacular -- and kids will get to chose which ones they learn the most about. They'll stretch, share about emotions and what it might feel like to express them through dance, and then dance to different beats: sad, mad, happy, and surprised-sounding tempos of music. They'll get to explore large and small movements, and learn some choreography. Kids will also learn about several famous dancers and the dance styles they made famous. Finally, they'll get to choreograph their very own, unique dance, to perform for friends.

For younger children, our teachers incorporates classic dance games like freeze dance and musical chairs, as well as simply wiggling out sillies! During multi-week series, each week is dedicated to a different style:

Week 1: Ballet
Week 2: Silks and Scarves
Week 3: Modern/Lyrical
Week 4: Latin

Our Grasshopper experience was amazing! I have four very curious kids at different ages with different interests, and the experience had all four of them engaged the whole time.
