This experience will introduce kids to the fundamentals of storytelling, acting, and filmmaking. They'll get a taste of movie making, all while gaining confidence in public speaking and developing their writing and reading comprehension skills.
Kids will start off learning the basics by recalling favorite stories and discussing which elements make those stories successful. Based on a prompt, kids will brainstorm story ideas and collaborate on script-writing three one-minute scenes: a beginning, middle, and ending.
With scripts in-hand, they'll warm up their bodies and voices, and get a mini-lesson in acting. An improv game will initiate scene rehearsal, and then all that's left is to film. Kids will learn simple camera operation, and every participant will have the opportunity to use the camera.
That's a wrap! We'll see you at the premiere 🤩
Ashley and Aspen are two sisters on a mission to bring amazing, performing arts experiences and enrichment to your kids! Aspen is a theater director, home baker, and college student passionate about bringing quality educational experiences to kids. Ashley is currently a Sophomore at the University of Southern California studying writing and theatre.
Both originally from Colorado, they have lots of experience working and volunteering with kids in their community and youth organizations. Their personal experiences growing up led them to determine there was a lack of quality, affordable education for children wanting to learn the performing arts, and they often found themselves working with teachers they found intimidating. Instead, their goal is to create accessible arts education that empowers kids, makes them feel valued, and helps them find their passions in a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment.
Ashley owned and operated a home bakery for 6 years, and currently runs an online confectionary called LolliPopped. She is training in the culinary and pastry arts, including the Wilton Decorating Method.
Ashley and Aspen are vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
