Explore color from a scientific and aesthetic perspective through this fun and engaging, colorful experience! Children will learn to mix and use primary, secondary, and tertiary colors by experimenting and developing an understanding of white light, waves, and frequencies. Teacher Carmel brings this experience to life by integrating an adventure in art through the viewing and critiquing of artist Wassily Kandinsky’s use of color in his paintings. Children will read from "The Blue Rider," a picture book that explains the science and meaning behind Kandinsky’s use of colors, and create their own painting in Kandinsky’s style drawing from a special wish or dream or hope they have in mind for the New Year. 🌈
