What is a habitat and what purpose do different habitats serve? Teacher Quincy will guide young animal lovers and planet protectors through learning and inquiry to help answer these very questions! A cut and paste activity to match animals with their habitats will kick this adventure off; and, if weather permits, the next stop will incorporate a movement break outdoors to see if any animal habitats can be observed in the wild.
Quincy will layer in books about different animals and the homes they inhabit, and children will be asked to imagine and brainstorm their own shelter or habitat for a very special animal: one that's fictional, or was observed or discussed earlier in the experience! By the end, children will present the purpose of all of the components of the habitat they constructed. By beginning with animals and empathy for others, children will be prompted to think about our own, human habitat, the Earth, and why it's so important we all continue to care for this place we and so many animals call 'home.' 🌎
Gather a group of friends to turn up the fun, and the price goes down for everyone.
