In this Yoga and Mindfulness Experience, children will learn the basics of body alignment, how to calm and energize themselves through breathing, basic stretches, and have fun working together in partner and group exercises. The Experience begins with guidelines that help children listen to their bodies, and stay safe throughout their practice. Familiar kids' games are adapted into fun, yoga-inspired movements and physical activities, and there will be balance challenges; freeze dance competitions; mirror games; partner stretches that inspire teamwork and communication amongst siblings and/or friends; and more! A mix of high energy moves and relaxing breaths are the key to this Experience winding up and down at just the right moments, captivating attentions and energetic spirits throughout. If desired, Brittany can incorporate a lavender mist during Resting Pose. Yoga mats and/or towels not provided at this time.
Gather a group of friends to turn up the fun, and the price goes down for everyone.
Brittany has a Bachelors in Spanish from the University of Oklahoma and has taught the Spanish language to students of all ages for 10 years. She has lived in Spain and Argentina and is fluent in Spanish reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension (including local dialects and styles). A warm and passionate educator, Brittany loves to bring language and culture into her educational experiences, just as much as she loves to layer movement (yoga especially!), song, and games into her lessons, to inspire the hearts and minds of students.
Brittany also became a certified Yoga Instructor in 2016, having completed a 200-hour teacher training program in Fort Collins, Colorado. She's taught yoga to all ages — toddlers to senior citizens! — and has an extensive background in mindfulness training. She worked with the Denver-based, non-profit, Be Mindful, to teach emotional awareness, the science of the brain, and how to energize and calm down with breath-work in schools, after school programs, and to homeless adults.
Brittany is vaccinated against COVID-19.
