About Garrett

Garrett has an A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education from the College of Marin, and a B.A. in Early Childhood Development from Cal State East Bay. He has been a lead preschool teacher in Mill Valley for the past 7 years, with over 15 years of experience working closely with kids ages 0-10.

Garrett is a creative teacher who loves to be silly and have fun with his students. He's adept at teaching social and emotional skills to very young children, and helping them to become more mindful humans. Garrett also believes it's important to make your own mistakes in front of children to show them the process of struggling and not giving up until you reach your goal. His passions are rollerblading, hiking, and playing video games.

Garrett is vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and First Aid and CPR certified.

Garrett had a practice area set up with cones and chalk. He walked the kids through the very basics like getting up on the skates, starting/stopping, posture, and how to fall down safely. It was a good first lesson. He has a very patient and calm style.
