In this immersive and fun foreign language learning series, kids will learn French fundamentals and vocabulary. As taught through songs, dance, arts and crafts, and, especially, books and stories, by the end of the series children will be playing in French and have learned much about the country and culture.
Throughout the series, kids will be introduce to French culture, geography, historical events, art, and food! Where is Paris? What do French people eat? What was the French revolution? What are French people are famous for?
They'll learn various French words and pronunciation through games and short educational videos. Children may work on mini-projects such as creating a little book with pictures, and sentences about what they learned during their French language learning series.
Whitley is a dedicated teacher who brings a passion for language, psychology, and the arts to her work. She graduated from SUNY with a major in psychology and French, and her time living in France during college solidified her love of the French language and culture.
Whitley's interest in language instruction was sparked by an amazing French teacher she had in college, and she has since gained experience working in a preschool, tutoring French, and babysitting. Her love for teaching extends beyond language and includes a commitment to nurturing the whole child. In addition to her academic pursuits, Whitley is an avid hiker and skier who has explored 47 of the 50 states. She also enjoys reading and anything related to the arts, particularly the creative process of artists.
