Intro to Guitar and Music will introduce students to fun and fundamentals of the guitar and musical self-expression. Beginning with the "Hello Song!," kids will introduce themselves and get to know one another. Interwoven instruction and activities such as learning the different parts of the guitar and how to hold it; learning simple songs, bass lines, and melodies; and time for improvisation and/or songwriting, make this experience multi-layered and interactive. A listening party during which kids can pull up their favorite songs and musical inspirations to share about why they love certain voices and sounds, as well as performing themselves, are also enjoyable interstitials incorporated throughout.
Games played may include the Metronome Game, Freeze Dance, Air Guitar Challenge, Karaoke, Guitar Memory, and more, depending on age, level, and experience duration 🤘
Andy is a talented musician, performer, and music teacher. With 20 years of performing, and 10 teaching, Andy is comfortable in front of a crowd or 1:1. With his private and small group instruction, he works closely with kids to share in and celebrate the joy of music and musical expression, coupled with attention to detail, technique, and form. His students have ranged in age from preschoolers to septuagenarians. Every opportunity to inspire someone new is music to his ears.
