Nature-Inspired Outdoor Art

The outside world will come alive in this experience that will awaken your child's senses and deeply enrich their imagination. Making use of outdoor spaces or nearby parks and fields, kids will explore surroundings where all the elemental beings dance and play, and fairy houses will be built; or, if there are creeks to discover, then lovingly-made boats will seek adventure, and kids will spend time learning new nature-inspired songs, playing games, listening to tales, and discovering fun ways to observe and engage with nature. Utilizing natural and found materials, kids will use their hands to create beautiful forms through various media: possibly wood working, paint, wool felt, and/or clay, depending on age and ability. Great for young and school-aged children, this experience will help your child further their self-expression, deepen their connection to natural elements, and find their own unique relationship to the natural world.

About Lesa

Kindergarten and Arts Teacher

Lesa left her legal career to pursue her passion for teaching children -- in fact, she's wanted to be a kindergarten teacher since she was 5 years old! She is passionate about engaging with children in meaningful ways that expand their brain- and social-emotional-development through nature-inspired activities, movement and art. She's inspired by and trained in Waldorf pedagogy, and loves to bring aspects of beauty, goodness, and warmth to expand children's curiosities about the world that surrounds them. Whenever she can, she finds ways to incorporate into her experiences simple ways to build kids' relationships with nature and sustainability, and ultimately with themselves.

Lesa has worked as an after-school program teacher and as a Kindergarten Assistant at local Waldorf schools in SF and Marin. She is CPR and First Aid Certified, and vaccinated against COVID-19.
