Uniquely You is a social emotional learning experience designed to support children's' development, led by a Social Emotional Learning expert. Kids will watch a short 4 minute video of “The Reflection in Me," by Marc Colagiovanni, and participate in a guided discussion of what happened in the story, what it meant to each of us, and how we each relate. The short is a heartwarming family film that shares themes of love, acceptance, and positive self-image.
After discussing, Quincy will prompt the group to think of things we love, things that bring joy, favorite hobbies, and more. With these ideas, kids will cut clippings from colored paper and magazines to create a collaged self portrait. Getting crafty while also exploring how complex and special each and every one of us is activates both sides of the brain and creates room for self exploration and acceptance of others. At the end, kids will share their self portraits with one another and about how they are uniquely themselves.
Gather a group of friends to turn up the fun, and the price goes down for everyone.
