In this Yoga and Mindfulness Experience, children will learn the basics of body alignment, how to calm and energize themselves through breathing, basic stretches, and have fun working together in partner and group exercises. The Experience begins with guidelines that help children listen to their bodies, and stay safe throughout their practice. Familiar kids' games are adapted into fun, yoga-inspired movements and physical activities, and there will be balance challenges; freeze dance competitions; mirror games; partner stretches that inspire teamwork and communication amongst siblings and/or friends; and more! A mix of high energy moves and relaxing breaths are the key to this Experience winding up and down at just the right moments, captivating attentions and energetic spirits throughout. Archana has a background in STEM with a passion for the arts. Well-versed in the scientific method through her career in clinical research, she shares her acquired skillset and curiosity working with kids. She's experienced in academic tutoring and homework clubs in both English and early math, and has also supported Mission Montessori after school curbside as well as the Bay Area Discovery Museum both on and off the floor working with kids on special projects. Archana has a passion for reading, weaving, meditative art forms, enjoying live music and all things outdoors.
