Young scientists, get ready for a colorful chemistry adventure! 🌈 Dive into the wonders of acids and bases with a fascinating series that lets children explore the magical world of litmus papers. Through hands-on activities, kids will experiment with HCl and NaOH solutions, observing how red and blue litmus papers react in thrilling transformations. By the end of this captivating experience, students will spark their curiosity and discover the joy of scientific exploration, all while developing critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the natural world. Parking Instructions

Please park at the school side of La Cuesta. Parking is not allowed on the East or West Floresta or in front of the school’s neighborhood driveways or fire hydrants. As you leave the driveway, you may only turn right. Left turns are prohibited and U-turns are not allowed at any intersection within the Ladera Community. The community has a speed limit of 25 MPH and 15 MPH if children are present. Please keep noise to a minimum (no speeding, horn honking, or creating undue traffic problems.)

Arrival Instructions

Please stop at the front office when you arrive to check in. Bring your ID for identification as you will need to scan your ID for the first time signing in. You will meet and pick your group from the outdoor area next to a whiteboard with the rosters for each class written on it. One of the Extended Day staff members will be stationed there with a megaphone and will call the names of students who are in your class and get them lined up. From there, you will then need to walk your group to the classroom.

Departure Instructions

Please walk the students back to the front desk in the Lodge (large multi-purpose room located next to the outdoor area) to ensure they either get signed back into extended care with the person at the desk or get connected with their parents to go home. The school keeps track of who goes home and who stays at school after class.

Her career in education includes nine years at Mathnasium Cupertino and experience as a long-term substitute teacher at Santa Clara Unified School District.
