Checkmate Champs: A Fun Journey Into Chess invites students to embark on an exciting adventure into the world of knights, kings, and strategy. Through captivating games, interactive challenges, and skill-building exercises, kids will dive into the fascinating game of chess. As they learn to think several moves ahead and develop critical problem-solving skills, they'll also make new friends and enjoy some friendly competition.

In this multi-week series, students will explore the chessboard, discovering the unique movements of each piece and the secrets to opening moves, mid-game tactics, and epic checkmates. Mini-tournaments and team activities will keep their competitive spirits high and make every session a celebration of learning and fun. 🏆 Whether they’re new to chess or looking to sharpen their skills, children will leave this experience with confidence and a greater appreciation for this classic game. 🥳

There is street parking (2hr and 4hr) nearby.

Arrival Instructions

Upon arrival on the first day, please check in with security and let them know you're there to see Nicole Lane in AEP. You will need to sign in with an ID via SchoolPass at the security desk. Nicole will meet you, show you the space, and then take you to the AEP room. The students will be lined up and ready to walk with you to the classroom.

Departure Instructions

At the end of the class, line up the students and walk them back to the AEP room.
