About Carmel

With 30 years of elementary school education experience, Carmel knows what it takes to make learning stick while still being fun. Carmel is a certified educator and prides herself on being a facilitator to children's natural curiosities and learning abilities. Carmel values every aspect of learning equally—social growth, academic achievement, leadership, and kindness—and believes they are integral parts of every child's learning journey.

Join Teacher Carmel on an 3-part adventure that explores art and nature. Beginning with the Botanic Gardens, and touring through the Denver Art Museum's Hamilton building and art and labs in the Martin building, kids will take inspiration from the natural world and precious artworks.

Join Teacher Carmel on an artistic adventure at the newly renovated Martin Building at The Denver Art Museum. Children will create their own collages, and participate in several reflective and exciting activities on-site with Carmel at The Creative Hub!

Everybody Needs a Rock

Join teacher Carmel for a geological adventure in learning! Carmel will read with kids and then lead them on a nature hike through the park or your yard to find the perfect rock to study, paint, and make your very own. This four hour experience will end with a delicious "rock cookie" activity to be enjoyed in the garden with friends.

This is an integrated Arts, Math, Literature, and History Experience based on current elementary classroom curriculum, designed to introduce African American historical figures Harriet Tubman and Jacob Lawrence. Children will read "Harriet and the Promised Land" by Jacob Lawrence, one of America’s most prominent African American artists who told the inspiring story of Harriet Tubman in both verse and paintings.
