It went pretty well! Everyone seemed to enjoy doing self portraits. A lot of kids left early though because their parents picked them up.

We did self portraits with oil pastels and acrylic paint.

I enjoyed the project I had planned and was pretty well prepared with lots of supplies. Unfortunately a lot of the children in this group have displayed some inappropriate behavior that I did my best to mitigate. Overall that was the only thing that didn't go very well, most of the kids seemed to enjoy the project.

We did a mixed media projects using acrylic paint, crayons, construction paper and tissue paper. I showed them what the finished project would look like and did a practice one in front of them. I created a tree using paint and tissue paper. They then did their own.

It went fairly well. I believe I need to have two projects per class though, as they finished pretty quickly.

We learned watercolors. I created card stock painting printouts with mini watercolor palettes on each page. I explained how watercolors differ from acrylic paints and how to assess how much water you need versus how much paint. I let the kids explore with color mixing the watercolors and seeing how the texture differs from acrylic.
