This experience will introduce students to traditional Japanese Sumi painting, and several different ways to make friendship bracelets. Beginning with meditation and breathwork, kids will learn how to paint their names and the word “friendship” in Japanese characters. They'll see how their own unique brushstrokes imbue the characters and writing of their names with their unique energies and personalities.
Switching creative mediums and gears, kids can choose which bracelet(s) styles they want to create, whether it will be a simple braids, chain links, spiral staircase, or ladder stitch. Or many in one! Once they've finished, they'll get to make a wish into their handmade bracelet. By tradition, if a bracelet is worn until it falls off naturally, the wearer is entitled to a wish-come-true for having honored the hard work and love that went into the bracelet.
An experience rooted in tradition and creativity, this one is sure to bring out your child's spirit as they flow ✨
