This inviting afterschool experience offers kids a supportive, supervised environment where their imaginations can soar freely. The program is designed for children to unwind, explore new activities, or dive into their favorite hobbies—all under the watchful eye of caring supervision. Whether they prefer to lose themselves in a good book, unleash their creativity through art and crafts, or enjoy the camaraderie of friends, this delightful extension of their day promotes independence, creativity, and the joy of simply being a kid! 🌈

Parking Instructions

The instructor may park in our lot between the main school building and the gym. Any space is fine as long as it is not marked “Children’s Council.”

Arrival Instructions

Please use the front main door upon arrival; you will need to be buzzed in. From there, go directly outside to the green benches, where Jessica and the students will be.

Departure Instructions

At the end of the enrichment class, the instructor should bring students back to the playground and do a direct handoff to Jessica, who will already be supervising the rest of the children during free play.

Young Writers' Mentor and Poetry Educator

Jessica is a passionate educator with a love for nurturing young writers and has a rich background in various educational and literary programs across California. Growing up in Southern California, Jessica spent countless hours immersed in libraries and honing their craft through exchanges on platforms like Tumblr and Twitter. As a dedicated teacher, Jessica has contributed to organizations such as 826 Valencia, and has supported young talent through initiatives like the LA Times' HS Insider. In the Bay Area, where poetry has played a significant role in her life, she has shared her work with prestigious venues, including the Asian Art Museum and Litquake. Jessica ardently believes in the power and potential of each student's voice and eagerly anticipates discovering emerging poetic talents.
