Check-in and Check-out Process

Check-in Process: Due to the traffic caused by dismissal, we strongly encourage all After School Program instructors to come either before dismissal  begins or after dismissal ends (Specific dismissal times can be found below.)  Please Check-In at Building 3 (even if your class is located elsewhere)  before your class time! You will receive a visitor sticker and Alexis  will get an update that you are in the building.

  • Monday - Thursday (times are subject to change):
    • Student Dismissal time: 3:15 - 3:45 pm
    • Suggested arrival times: 2:50-3:10 pm or after 3:50 pm
  • Friday (early dismissal):
    • Student Dismissal time: 2:20 - 2:45 pm
    • Suggested arrival time: 2:00 - 2:15 pm or after 2:50 pm

Check-out  Process: We are asking all After School Program instructors to check-OUT at the front desk before leaving Synapse campus. This is the same process as checking in! To see  step-by-step instructions for checking in and out at Synapse, click here!

  • Please check-out AFTER you have sent the kiddos back to After Care! You should check out on the way out of the building, before officially leaving for the day!
  • The "why": We use our sign in/out system to know who is actively on campus in case of emergencies (fire, etc.) We want to include you in our safety protocols as well!

Taking Attendance

  • We would like to start officially tracking attendance for each program. We have created  physical attendance sheets that you will receive when you come to pick-up your program students! (A visual of what this sheet will look like can be found below.)
  • How to use the attendance sheet:
  • Collect your students from After Care. A Synapse adult will hand you the attendance sheet.
  • Go to your class location. Once there, fill out the “Program Check In” column of the attendance sheet under that day's date.
  • At the end of the program, walk the students back to the After Care area and return the attendance sheet to a Synapse adult.
  • The "why": Our student numbers AND programs offered are growing! We want to be better at keeping track of student attendance.

Student Pick-up / Drop-off

Student Pick-up: Once you have checked-in at the front desk in Building 3, you are welcome to set-up / drop off  your class materials in your class location (to be determined at a later date). When you are ready to begin class, you can pick the students up from the Front Playground (a school map will be emailed to new partners at a later date)They will be grouped by their class. From here, you can walk with them to your class location to begin class.

Student Drop-off: When your class time is over, you will walk your students back to the Front Playground. Parents will not be picking up from your class location unless they need to pick-up early. If you are a new partner, Alexis will be assigning one of your students to be the “class leader” who will be available to help show you how to get to the Front Playground from your class location.

We are asking all After School Program instructors to check-OUT at the front desk before leaving Synapse campus. This is the same process as checking in! To see  step-by-step instructions for checking in and out at Synapse, click here!

What Parents Are Saying

“”
We LOVED everything about Grasshopper! The customer service experience was exceptional! I felt like so much intentionality was taken to ensure that the activity would be both age appropriate and fun for my kids. Our experience leader was so easy going and chatted with the kids during the experience, and really took the time to engage and get to know them. We are definitely going to be using Grasshopper again! Thank you!

Grasshopper offered my daughter an opportunity to learn in a vibrant, fun setting that was continuously customized for her attention span and interests. Her Grasshopper teacher was fun, engaging and supremely personable. She took the time to get to know my daughter before diving into anything. I felt more than comfortable leaving my daughter in such capable hands…and love that she truly learned some new things from the experience. We will be using Grasshopper regularly to broaden her horizons and expose her to new concepts in a safe and compelling way. The icing on the cake is that the experience took place in our home, at a time that was convenient for us!

Our Grasshopper experience was amazing! I have four very curious kids at different ages with different interests, and the experience had all four of them engaged the whole time. Also, as an educator, I was very impressed with how the teacher led the program. She obviously knew what she was doing, and the minute she left, my kids were asking for another experience.
