It was fun to see the whole group together again!

Today we completed our group project. We also prepared for our final 2 classes. Next week we will work on a β€˜build’ that has paws and uses paintbrushes!

This is a great group, so it was another AMAZING day!

Today we worked on our Rainbow Fish. We practiced cutting circles without the use of a stencil! We β€˜activated’ paint markers and created patterns, rainbows and shapes on the large fish. Students worked together on one large surface and talked about how to design a fish and make scales.

I really enjoy this group, do it was fun! We worked on making animals out of tangrams, and we talked about the supplies we would want to use next week. We wrap up the class this way. Today I brought the shiny paper that was requested.

3/4 of the students remembered that we made animals out of shapes last week. This week we worked on our first collaborative animal: a fish! We prepared the surface of a large oval. The we read the Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.

I enjoy watching the students work, their ideas come together and of course I appreciate how they support one another!

As usual I brought more supplies than are needed. We never know what ideas will spark an interest that is a great fit for a special material. Today we created animals out of circles and triangles

I loved it!!!

We had a great time today! The students worked on bioluminescent animals. We continued w/the theme: real imaginary combination The structure of the class was a little more rigid. Step1 pencil and paper outline ( 3 different papers offered) Step 2 add marker, stickers, glow in the dark tape Step 3 add glue in the dark paint After the artwork was completed, student volunteers washed the brushes while I prepared the wrap up: black lights and glow sticks. We had fun!

Great! Cool kids!!!!

Today I arrived early, learned a little about the students from the classroom teacher and together we walked to the rig area. We introduced ourselves, talked about favorite animals and looked at some images of animals as suggested by magic planner. We discussed materials such as stone, paper and string. We also thought about real, imaginary and if animals could be a combination of imagination and reality. The students were given a choice of large or small cardstock and were tasked with creating a favorite animal: real or imaginary. For the final 20 minutes we had a gallery walk, and used a hand held magnifying glass to see details in our work. The decided theme for next week involves glow in the dark animals. It was a great day! Thank you Grasshopper!
