Class went really good! I had everything I needed and the students had a lot of fun trying new things.
Today the students made Mango Lassi from India! I had the students cut and peel their own mangoes and measure all other ingredients being sure to give them smaller measurements that add up to a larger measurement so they can learn how to add fractions (such as 1/4 cup plus 1/4 cup = 1/2 cup). Then we blended the ingredients and made diya lamps at the end of class.

It went really well today! The kids were definitely a bit more energetic today but overall they all listened and were patient went having to take turns.
The students and I went to Japan today! I had them line up to wash their fruit and then had them cut the fruit up. After they were all done cutting the fruit I helped them lay out the rice, top it with fruit and roll it on parchment paper and a rolling mat. Once they completed their sushi I gave them all chopsticks to try and use to eat the sushi. We had a little time left so we used it to color a Japanese landscape with mountains and cherry blossom trees.

Today went really well! I felt very prepared and filled my hour to the last minute! The students listened well and had a lot of fun.
Today's culture I taught was Mexico. I taught the students the importance in washing your hands and fruit/ vegetables before you cook. They learned knife skills and how to cut tomatoes. I included mashing the avocados in a plastic bag for a tactile experience as well. Afterwards we learned the Mexican hat dance and decorated paper sombreros.

I think today went really well. It was my very first class. I came in a little bit nervous, not sure what to expect, but it was great, all of the children, listen to all the instructions, they didn't start until we ask them to start. None of them were touching the glue guns without help. So they all listened really well. They showed us their projects which I really, really liked and Yeah, I had a really good first class.
Today, we went over all of the ground kit, all the ground rules with all of the children. We discussed what kinds of clouds. There are the different types, what kind of clouds the kids might want to make how clouds are made, and then we jumped into the activity, we demonstrated, how to make the cloud, and then went around and helped all of the children and parents with making the actual Cloud lamb. Amps. And then we wrapped up with everything, ask kids, how they thought they did. They came up to us and showed us their final creations and then went home and we cleaned everything up and left.
