About Nova

Nova is a multifaceted professional who excels in both martial arts and creative design. A dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, Nova loves sharing her passion with children aged 4–8, fostering empowerment and physical fitness in her youth classes. Beyond jiu-jitsu, she has designed and implemented comprehensive youth sports programs in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and more, inspiring young athletes across various disciplines. With a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Nova also mentors aspiring creatives and volunteers regularly at her children's elementary school, assisting with art projects. Her unique blend of fitness and art expertise allows her to creatively inspire and challenge kids to be themselves, try their best, and have fun.

Mount Tamalpais School

It was great! I’m excited for the next class.

The class went smoothly. I prepared two drawings but we only completed one. I introduced Mr. Owl, whom the children renamed Mr. Hoot. Since everyone seemed to love owls, I'll include them as a topic in our next session. We concluded by reading Pete the Cat and asking the class if they'd like to draw it next week. A few students became distracted, but I successfully redirected their attention back to the lesson. I learned several recall techniques used at the school that I'll implement in future classes.
