Wonderful. Maybe the best class I’ve taught. We had a lot of fun and this class is a great way for kids to learn and be creative

Today theme was “nocturnal animals” I started the class showing examples and watching a small video. Our first drawing was a night time scene. We than played a small game for a movement break. Our second activity was making Halloween cards featuring nocturnal Halloween animals.

Today was fine, this is definitely my most challenging class. The kids are very energetic and rebellious. This class requires a lot of planning and effort. I keep the kids busy with hands on activities and they have fun.

Really good, after last week I wanted to put extra effort in preparing a class that was fun and engaging. The kids enjoyed this kind of creative hands on activity much more than learning art techniques. They stayed focused and had a lot of fun. I think I will stick to this style of class

We did a craft class, sometimes the kids struggle to stay focused and seated when we are painting/drawing. So this class was very hands on. We built “recycle robots” from craft materials.

Today was slightly chaotic. The challenge I had prepared for the kids at the start turned out to be not so enjoyable for them. And unfortunately I think it set the tone for the lesson. Near the end I felt a little stretched thin as many kids needed individual attention, either with their work or to regain focus. However the lesson still went according to plan and i believe everybody had fun and learned something.

Today’s lesson was on “observation”. To start the class I began with a challenge, rapid fire trying to copy famous paintings with crayons. For each painting the kids were given one minute. After that I introduced the main topic of today, painting still life. I had brought flowers and set them in the middle of the table for the kids to observe and paint. Half way through the class we done a movement break. After our break I tasked the kids with shading their work. Near the end of the class kids got distracted and I had trouble keeping their attention. To end we talked about our paintings as a group.

Really well, everyone was in a good mood including myself, we all had a lot of fun. It’s great to see the kids are improving at chess

5 minutes silent free drawing at the start of the class while going over expectations. I introduced the topic of the lesson and we made drawing based on the topic. Half way through I did a movement break. We continued the lesson and to close we put all of our art together and talked briefly about it.

Today’s lesson was on “shading”. I started the class with a 5 minutes free paint. After that I introduced the lesson for today. I already had individual paper prepared for each kid with ways to practise shading. After that I let them decide a subject of their choice to paint and to shade. When class was over we put all our paintings together and the kids took turns guessing who painted what.

Easy peasy no problem. Small group of good kids who love playing chess. They are all very young tho and want a lot of attention, I am getting better at managing this :)
