It was not going well in the beginning. I felt very unprepared. I had a schedule and a class list in hand but no direction and things were very hectic and there was very little support given that the teachers from the school expected me to know what was going on. I did not know where to get their snacks. There was kids from kindergarten to fifth grade so I could not split them up by grade for the enrichment/outdoor time. Most of them just wanted to come out. I felt much more comfortable outside and keeping track of the children and the parents arriving but again at the end when all the children left, I felt unprepared I didn’t know where to leave the clipboard and keys and where to lock up or not.
When I got there, there was really no clear direction or person that knew what was going on. Me and a teacher from the school were able to get the kids inside and do a roll call. Things were very hectic. Most of the kids came outside while two stayed inside for the enrichment program. They played soccer and on the playground outside and we went back in at 5pm with 3 children and they played pool for the remaining time. I did not have any direction of where to leave the clipboard and the keys at the end of the day and where to lock up. I left the clipboard and the keys in the mailroom.

Class went well today. Only one child had a hard time making their ice cream but everyone was happy and I had enough supplies for the day.
Today the kids and I made icecream in a bag. The kids got into two lines while we measured ice and salt, and cream, sugar, and vanilla into separate bags. The kids shook up their bags until they made icecream.

It went well. We introduced ourselves went over the tasks and health and safety. I felt comfortable with the students since they are kids that have been coming to multiple classes and we got to talk about how they make their fried rice and just got to know more about them.
Today in class the students cut up carrots, green onion, and spam to make fried rice. They cooked everything on the griddle.

Class went well today. There weren’t very many students and other than measuring and blending the ingredients, we were able to get the recipe done and tasted very quickly so we had a lot of free time in the end to discuss future classes.
The students and I talked about the benefits of dates and made energy date balls with a food processor.

Class went well today. I had a short slideshow about what we were making and a short video about the history of açaí bowls. We started off with that and also our class rules and got right into making the recipe.
Today the students and I made açaí bowls. They cut up bananas and strawberries. They blended mangos with acai and water and then assembled their bowls with the different toppings and we talked about different fruits, different toppings, and if we would make it at home.
