About Melany

Melany embarked on her artistic journey at the age of five, discovering a deep passion for traditional cultural dances. With a rich background in various instruments and dance forms such as West African, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Modern Dance, she now specializes in Son Jarocho, a vibrant traditional music and dance from Veracruz, Mexico. Melany has over ten years of teaching and performing experience and played a pivotal role in producing an EP with her resident company. As a full-time Cinema student at SFSU, she beautifully merges her artistic talents and love for filmmaking, bringing creativity and joy into every classroom.
